Michael Ponti (29 October 1937 – 17 October 2022) was a German classical pianist who was known internationally for concerts and recordings of Tchaikovsky and Rachmaninoff. He made more than 80 recordings, many of them of rarely played repertoire. For several composers, his recordings were the only recordings of their works then. His death came barely a week to his 85th birthday.
